The Centre of Forest Natural Education (Polish abbreviation OEPL) works in The Forest Division Lubsko – LKP (Promotional Forest Complex) of Lubusz Forest structure.
The mentioned centre was opened on 30 June of 1998 due to ceremony. Here, in the wooden forester's cottage built in 1926, there are an office and five exhibition rooms showing: silviculture, forest protection, natural environment protection, forest usage and culture creating role of the forest. The exhibition rooms are peculiar discussion forum about a relationship between a human being and a forest, and regulations of conducted forest farming (by the foresters) based on the idea of balanced development. The rooms are always visited in the presence of the forester, who can give you some additional explanations and answers to frequently asked questions if necessary.
In the separate building there is a conference room (for about 60 - 70 people), which is equipped in modern multimedia, the internet, a library, a forest film library and plenty of teaching aids: guidebooks, albums, different types of atlases, keys required to plant marking, data tablets, sets of viewgraphs, educational games, binoculars, magnifying glasses, etc.
In the area of the centre, there was built since the very beginning The Dendrology Garden (about 2 hectares), which was founded to collect as big number of different types of pines as possible.
The Centre of Forest Natural Education is open:
- Wednesday - Friday: 8.00 - 17.00
- Saturday: 8.00 - 16.00
- Sunday: 11.00 - 16.00
- Monday, Tuesday - closed
